Muhammad claims to be found in the scriptures the Jews had, we have the scriptures the Jews had and he is not found in them.
So the Qur’an claims the actual scriptures in Jewish/Christian possession at Muhammad’s time contained a recognizable prediction of Muhammad.
Syllogism – Muhammad’s Prophethood Dilemma
P1. The Qur’an states that Jews and Christians find Muhammad explicitly described in the Torah and Gospel that are with them (Surah 7:157;, 61:6).
P2. The Torah and Gospel text we have today is the same, in all relevant essentials, as the text Jews and Christians had in the 7th century.
P3. These scriptures contain no clear, explicit prophecy of an Arab prophet named Muhammad/Ahmad or a prophet matching his profile in the straightforward sense.
C. Therefore, the Qur’anic claim that Muhammad is plainly found in the Torah and Gospel “with them” is false, which undermines Muhammad’s claim to prophethood.
Result: Qur’an is in error → Muhammad’s claim to prophethood collapses.
-Allah allowed His own proofs of Muhammad to be erased,
Result: Either Allah failed to preserve His own evidence, or the Qur’an misrepresents the state of those scriptures. Either option undercuts its divinity.
So either the Torah and Gospel are intact and refute the Qur’an’s claim about Muhammad, or they’re corrupted in a way that makes the Qur’an wrong about their status. In both cases, Muhammad’s appeal to prior scripture backfires.
