The Quran Verse
Surah 27:18:
Until, when they came upon the valley of the ants, an ant said, 'O ants, enter your dwellings lest you be crushed by Solomon and his soldiers while they perceive not.'
This verse attributes complex human language, the recognition of specific historical figures ("Solomon"), and an understanding of military ranks ("his soldiers") to an ant.
While ants communicate via pheromones and vibrations, they do NOT possess the cognitive capacity for individual identification of human kings or complex vocalized speech.
This story is also found in the Jewish Midrash (The Alphabet of Ben Sira) and other legends where Solomon speaks to all animals. To the critic, this is a "Disney-fied" version of history that replaces the realistic biblical Solomon with a mythological figure who commands jinns and talks to insects.
