The Contradiction
Surah 41:9–12:
This passage details the creation: 2 days for the earth, 4 days for the earth's nourishment, and 2 days for the seven heavens. (2 + 4 + 2 = 8 days).
While Surah 32:4 aligns with the Biblical 6-day timeline (Genesis 1), the detailed breakdown in Surah 41 creates a "math problem."
If the Quran is a "detailed explanation of all things" (12:111), these arithmetic discrepancies regarding the very beginning of the universe are seen by critics as evidence of a composite text written by someone who struggled to reconcile different oral traditions.
