In verses 15–25, the Surah provides a highly condensed version of the Exodus story:
Surah 79:15-25:
Has there reached you the story of Moses? When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 'Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed...'
The Biblical Contrast:
In the Book of Exodus, God introduces Himself to Moses at the Burning Bush through His covenantal, personal name: YHVH (I AM WHO I AM), explicitly invoking the historical promises made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Exodus 3:14-15). The goal is to redeem God's chosen nation from slavery so they can worship Him.
The Quranic Discrepancy:
The Quran strips the narrative of its entire covenantal, national, and redemptive meaning. The historical nation of Israel is completely omitted from this account. Moses is treated simply as an isolated "Warner" sent to tell Pharaoh to purify himself.
