Surah 95:4–5:
We have certainly created man in the best of statures; Then We return him to the lowest of the low.
The philosophical pivot of the Surah makes a sweeping, absolute claim about the biological trajectory of the human species: "We have certainly created man in the best of statures; Then We return him to the lowest of the low."
The Arabic phrase "ahsani taqwim" denotes a perfect symmetry, a flawless physical uprightness, and an optimal blueprint.
Modern evolutionary biology, genetics, and anatomy have firmly established that the human body is not a "perfectly engineered mold" free from structural compromise. The human design contains numerous biological flaws—such as an exposed spinal column prone to chronic lower-back degradation due to bipedalism, an optical blind spot in the retina, and a vestigial appendix that can cause fatal infections. Declaring human biology to be an absolute, optimal physical masterpiece (Ahsani taqwim) that is subsequently "ruined" or returned to the lowest of the low reflects a primitive, non-scientific understanding of anatomy and physical aging
