This surah criticizes hypocrites who perform public prayers but refuse basic charity.
The text introduces a logical circularity regarding how ritual actions are evaluated by God.
Surah 107:4-5:
So woe to those who pray—[But] who are heedless of their prayer. (In Arabic: Fawaylun lil-musalleen, Al-ladheena hum 'an salatihim sahoon)
The Logical Bug: The text issues an absolute divine curse (Wayl) upon people who are actively engaged in performing the formal Islamic prayers (Lil-Musalleen), but are internally distracted or heedless (Sahoon).
This creates an immense psychological paradox and legalistic vulnerability. If the ritual prayer itself can become a source of active damnation and divine cursing because of a person's wandering thoughts, the text sets up an unstable standard of spiritual safety. It turns the very mechanism of seeking forgiveness into a trap of divine condemnation, reflecting a highly reactive, human preacher venting frustration at insincere followers.
