In both Christian and Jewish traditions, Ezra is a faithful priest and scribe, known for teaching the Law and leading spiritual reform. He lived in the 5th century BC.
Ezra 7:6
this Ezra went up from Babylonia. He was a scribe skilled in the Law of Moses that the Lord, the God of Israel, had given, and the king granted him all that he asked, for the hand of the Lord his God was on him.Ezra 7:10
For Ezra had set his heart to study the Law of the Lord, and to do it and to teach his statutes and rules in Israel.
The Quran often claims to verify or corroborate earlier revelations (e.g., 10:37, 5:48).
But here, it presents a belief no Jewish scripture ever contained.
Surah 9:30 - “The Jews say, ‘Ezra is the son of Allah,’ while the Christians say, ‘The Messiah is the son of Allah.’ These are mere words from their mouths. They imitate the sayings of earlier disbelievers. May Allah condemn them! How can they be deluded from the truth?”
The mainstream, historical, and contemporary Judaism does not, and has never, affirmed that Ezra (Uzair) is the literal "Son of God" or a divine figure.
The Jews saying, ‘Ezra is the son of Allah.’ has zero historical record nor any Jewish text supporting this. Ezra was never worshipped, never called divine, and never This greatly undermines the Quran as the verse is a factual error of information regarding Jewish belief.
