The vast majority of biblical stories also mentioned in the Quran come from the Old Testament. The Quran clearly sees itself as a continuation of these previous scriptures and repeatedly warns against those who deny it.
The Arabic Quran is only a little larger that the Greek New Testament's four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) so it is not surprising that many stories are missing completely.
